The main problem with this is that if the Texas Chainsaw Massacre had electric, it would have been quieter and less scary.In all seriousness, I am a fan of the NovorikX brand. This is my second NovorikX tool. I previously orderdd their pole chain saw to take the tops of some trees blocking my back porch view. It functioned great and so dows this one.The construction quality is excellent. It feels just like an EGO tool. It even sort of looked like one with the gray and green. I was a little disappointed that the battery was gray rather than the bright green I was used to, but this is probably wise. EGO will likely sue for a trade dress lawsuit. Maybe by going gray it will aboid this.Something I really respected is that NovorikX knew what to build themselves and what takes too much specialized manufacturing. They sourced their bars and chains from Oregon. Oregon is one of the most respected names in the chainsaw industry. This shows that NovorikX did their research.The included battery is twice the size of the one I have for the pole chainsaw. Battery life is good, but this is a power hungry tool. Still, it say you can expect over 200 cuts per battery. That will chop a tree up, and that's all most homeowners will ever need.It is versatile. You can make it a 16" or 18" chainsaw at your discretion. Bars and chains for both are included. The guard is marked for cutting to 16" or even 14" if desired. I loved a tiny 14" McCullough I had at one point, but I decided to leave it 18". That's a good do it all size without being unwieldy.It is easy to use. It has great torque. The adjustment tool stores on board. They even throw in nice leather gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, and a chain sharpening file! It's a great value for under what EGO is asking.However, as another user noted, this is priced a little too high for a new manufacturer entering the market. You've got ten years of reputation building before you can ask this price. I'd lower prices to get market share. You are using great components. If you treat you customer's well with support, this is going to be one of the big brands in electric power tools.

For regular homestead work, storm cleanup, trimming trees, and cutting firewood, this has been incredibly convenient. You just grab it, pull the trigger, and go. No gas mixing, no flooded engine, no shoulder workout from pull-starting a stubborn saw that hasn't been touched in three months.And surprisingly' it actually has real power.A lot of cordless chainsaws feel underpowered once you hit thicker wood, but this one cuts much more like a gas saw than I expected. It handled limbs, hardwood, and fallen branches around the property without constantly bogging down or struggling.The brushless motor feels smooth while cutting, and the chain speed helps it move through wood quickly without needing to lean all your body weight into it.I also really appreciate the tool-free chain adjustment. Powering the saw just requires that. Still, the overall weight is only 7.3 pounds. It was still noticeably lighter than my gas powered saw. The battery and charger are both well constructed, large and appear built to last. Another bit that impressed me was the large print and easy to understand manual that accompained the saw.I set out to determine how functional and powerful the saw actually was. First trimming up some invasive cedars near the house. The saw went thru those like butter. These are mostly mid sized branches 2-4 inches diameter. It made fast simple work of this, easier and safer than a gas saw in such close quarters because the saw is more manuervable, and stops spinning as soon as you release the trigger. The saw is also quiet, which helps to keep you focused, and less stressed while working.I moved on to some larger pieces of dried firewood to see how it would handle what is typically a hard cutting. The saw dug and pulled itself right into the wood, tossing off large chunks of cuttings. Just what you expect from a strong saw with a new chain. I was really won over by this performance, and surprised.The question everyone asks me is how long the battery will last. That, I just don't know at this stage. All I can say is that I used it for about 20 minutes, and it did not drop the battery level at all. For most homeowner applications, I'd say the homeowner will tire out before the battery.To sum up, I would say this saw will perform exceptionally well for people looking for a saw for general use and non-commercial applications. Not a saw for the professional, all day woodcutter or tree trimming crew, It just does not have that extra long-term running power and high RPM performance of the better gas saws. But for the person that does need a chainsaw for periodic work, and is intimidated or tired of the regular maintenance and frustration of the gas saws, this could be a great choice to get the work done and save your energy for the cleanup. The ease of use of this saw is its top feature. The fact that it is also powerful enough to handle heavy work, for moderate periods seals the deal.
