60V Brushless 18-Inch & 16-Inch Chainsaw

The main problem with this is that if the Texas Chainsaw Massacre had electric, it would have been quieter and less scary. In all seriousness, I am a fan of the NovorikX brand. This is my second NovorikX tool. I previously orderdd their pole chain saw to take the tops of some trees blocking my back porch view. It functioned great and so dows this one.The construction quality is excellent. It feels just like an EGO tool. It even sort of looked like one with the gray and green. I was a little disappointed that the battery was gray rather than the bright green I was used to, but this is probably wise. EGO will likely sue for a trade dress lawsuit. Maybe by going gray it will aboid this.Something I really respected is that NovorikX knew what to build themselves and what takes too much specialized manufacturing. They sourced their bars and chains from Oregon. Oregon is one of the most respected names in the chainsaw industry. This shows that NovorikX did their research. The included battery is twice the size of the one I have for the pole chainsaw. Battery life is good, but this is a power hungry tool. Still, it say you can expect over 200 cuts per battery. That will chop a tree up, and that's all most homeowners will ever need.It is versatile. You can make it a 16" or 18" chainsaw at your discretion. Bars and chains for both are included. The guard is marked for cutting to 16" or even 14" if desired. I loved a tiny 14" McCullough I had at one point, but I decided to leave it 18". That's a good do it all size without being unwieldy. It is easy to use. It has great torque. The adjustment tool stores on board. They even throw in nice leather gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, and a chain sharpening file! It's a great value for under what EGO is asking. However, as another user noted, this is priced a little too high for a new manufacturer entering the market. You've got ten years of reputation building before you can ask this price. I'd lower prices to get market share. You are using great components. If you treat you customer's well with support, this is going to be one of the big brands in electric power tools.

For regular homestead work, storm cleanup, trimming trees, and cutting firewood, this has been incredibly convenient. You just grab it, pull the trigger, and go. No gas mixing, no flooded engine, no shoulder workout from pull-starting a stubborn saw that hasn't been touched in three months. And surprisingly' it actually has real power.A lot of cordless chainsaws feel underpowered once you hit thicker wood, but this one cuts much more like a gas saw than I expected. It handled limbs, hardwood, and fallen branches around the property without constantly bogging down or struggling. The brushless motor feels smooth while cutting, and the chain speed helps it move through wood quickly without needing to lean all your body weight into it.I also really appreciate the tool-free chain adjustment. Being able to tighten the chain quickly while working instead of hunting for tools in the middle of a project is a huge quality-of-life improvement. The automatic oiler has worked well too, and the saw overall feels solid and well balanced in your hands instead of awkwardly heavy.Battery life has been good enough for actual work around the property, not just tiny quick jobs. Obviously if you're processing an entire winter woodpile you'll want backup batteries, but for normal cleanup and maintenance it's been more than capable. The two included bar sizes are also genuinely useful. The 16-inch setup is easier for trimming and lighter work, while the 18-inch bar handles larger cuts and firewood better. It's also MUCH quieter than gas, which honestly makes outdoor work way more pleasant. The only criticism we had was that the chains weren't labeled and we ended up putting them on the scale to see which was heavier to determine which the 18 inch chain was.Overall, this feels like a really practical saw for homeowners, homesteaders, and anyone tired of maintaining small gas engines all the time.

I used this electric chainsaw to take down a dead tree in our yard over the weekend, and it actually made the whole project way less intimidating than I expected. I am not a pro at all, so I appreciated that the saw came with everything laid out clearly, including two different bar sizes, a battery, and a charger, just like you see in the picture. The grips are comfortable, the trigger and safety are easy to understand, and the bright green accents make it simple to see what does what when you are still getting used to it. Once I added bar oil and tightened the chain, it fired right up with a squeeze of the trigger, no yanking a pull cord and no messing with gas. Taking that dead tree down was still real work, but the saw cut through the trunk and branches smoother than I expected, and it never felt like it was struggling or about to stall out, even when I got into thicker sections. The best part for me was how manageable it felt compared to the gas saws my friends bring over, which are loud enough to wake the next county and make you feel like you are auditioning for a horror movie. The battery on this one held up for a long session of cutting the main trunk into pieces and then slicing the branches down to firewood size, and I only had to recharge once after a lot of cuts. I mostly used the longer bar because it gave me more reach and made it easier to slice through wider pieces without feeling clumsy. The saw balances well, so even when I was working at odd angles around the stump, it did not feel like it was pulling me around. Overall it turned a job I was kind of dreading into something that felt doable and even a little fun, and now I feel pretty confident tackling more dead limbs and storm cleanup with it.

For several years I've waited hopefully when the day would arrive that battery powered chainsaws rivaled gas powered saws. I believe that day has finally arrived. I do a fair amound of chainsawing on our farm, plus cut loads of wood for a woodstove. Pull starting, choking, diagnosing issues with my chainsaw has always been a chore. Yet, I just didn't believe anything battery powered could cut wood reliably. As I set this up, I was immediately impressed that it contained high quality Oregon bars and blades. I chose to set up with the 18 inch bar. Everything was simple, well built, and the saw was ready to go in no time. The bar even has a diagram showing exactly how to fit the chain, as a reminder. Once assembled, there is a nice, easy to use tensioner screw on the bar cover to tighten or loosen chain without difficulty. The 60 volt battery is somewhat heavy, but I expected no less. Powering the saw just requires that. Still, the overall weight is only 7.3 pounds. It was still noticeably lighter than my gas powered saw. The battery and charger are both well constructed, large and appear built to last. Another bit that impressed me was the large print and easy to understand manual that accompained the saw.I set out to determine how functional and powerful the saw actually was. First trimming up some invasive cedars near the house. The saw went thru those like butter. These are mostly mid sized branches 2-4 inches diameter. It made fast simple work of this, easier and safer than a gas saw in such close quarters because the saw is more manuervable, and stops spinning as soon as you release the trigger. The saw is also quiet, which helps to keep you focused, and less stressed while working.I moved on to some larger pieces of dried firewood to see how it would handle what is typically a hard cutting. The saw dug and pulled itself right into the wood, tossing off large chunks of cuttings. Just what you expect from a strong saw with a new chain. I was really won over by this performance, and surprised. The question everyone asks me is how long the battery will last. That, I just don't know at this stage. All I can say is that I used it for about 20 minutes, and it did not drop the battery level at all. For most homeowner applications, I'd say the homeowner will tire out before the battery. To sum up, I would say this saw will perform exceptionally well for people looking for a saw for general use and non-commercial applications. Not a saw for the professional, all day woodcutter or tree trimming crew, It just does not have that extra long-term running power and high RPM performance of the better gas saws. But for the person that does need a chainsaw for periodic work, and is intimidated or tired of the regular maintenance and frustration of the gas saws, this could be a great choice to get the work done and save your energy for the cleanup. The ease of use of this saw is its top feature. The fact that it is also powerful enough to handle heavy work, for moderate periods seals the deal.

The 60V cordless chainsaw is best suited for cleaning up around the yard or moderate cutting up felled trees. The 60V battery and 16" or 18" Oregon blade provide adequate power and quickly cut through a 4 by 8 old growth fir beam. The instructions are a bit light on how to attach the blade and chain the saw , but the process is similar to other chainsaws. The chain tension is easily adjusted using the included wrench that stores in the handle. The wrench seems like it may easily fall out when using the saw. The 60V battery is quite large but provides adequate power and is easily charged with the included 120V charger. The saw includes a kick back guard that shuts off the saw. The chain also stops quickly once the trigger is released providing extra safety. The saw comes with large size gloves (worthless), safety glasses and earplugs. Additional safety equipment such as cut resistant chaps, full face shield and better hearing protection are advised. Bar/chain oil is not included but is necessary for chain life. Overall, a good saw when used within it's limitations at what seems like an expensive price.
